Time flies when you’re having fun, doesn’t it? 8 quick years have passed by in what seems to be a flash.
First off, we want to thank YOU – the people, for allowing us to create something special over the last 8 years. There’s been many great memories, and you guys can thank yourselves for that. We would like you to know that we are very grateful for the support from those around us and it couldn’t happen without ALL of you.
People that frequent 40hz events are looking for something specific and are brought there by something personal – a true and genuine love for bass music. This simple detail is the reason why we do what we do and why we hope to be able to continue for years to come.
For this celebration, we have compiled some of our local heroes, a few MASSIVE Canadian producers that have taken bass music worldwide and one of our personal favourite producers as of late. And by the way, we’ve got a massive warehouse to host in and string up the FULL 40hz soundsystem.
We want to give people some chill time with the sound system – so come early and get your lights-on picture with the stack. Just YOU! Andrija will be present from 9pm-10pm on to capture your rudebwoy/gyal pose in front of the soundsystem. Obviously, come 10 pm we ‘turn da lights down’ and get going with some pressure. Come early to chill, chat, drink and hang <3 Pictures will be emailed post event if you leave us with your email. This is a free offer but first come first serve so early arrival in encouraged.
We are MEGA excited to present….
DUBAMINE (California)
Dub-Stuy Records, Dank n Dirty Dubz
Early minimal dubstep releases exposed Dubamine as an immediate focal point for the genre, but recently his dubwise influenced pieces are getting LOTS of love around the world. This is due to the recent slew of releases on Dub-Stuy records in NYC with re-licks of classic reggae tunes and originals that become immediate classics. We have been waiting to have him here for a while, so come check him out as we will make sure to be extra heavy on the level faders for this one.
POIRIER (Montreal)
Nice Up ! Records, Mixpak, Ninja Tune
A man with a plan. Poirier is on his own tip. Pulling inspiration from classic reggae production techniques and textures, Poirier’s music is nothing short of fun, energetic and FRESH. Make no mistake that even though he can whine you, he’ll dine you and then, well….. you’ll have to see for yourself. This is Poirier’s debut on the 40hz sound and no one is more excited than us!
DUBMATIX (Toronto)
Internationally, no one in Canada is more respected in the reggae / dub scene than Dubmatix. Selling out tours all across Mexico and Europe (every year), rolling out his syndicated Radio show (The Basement Sessions) to the masses and generally keeping busy at his studio in Toronto, Jesse “Dubmatix” King is hands down one of the most talented in the city and probably the nicest guy you will ever meet. Returning to play on the sound for only the second time, we wish Dubmatix could play every time we stack the rig up.
